Zen Construction was founded by Levi Marker and Brian Dunagan — two builders who have known each other since high school, growing up in the Midwest where the values were simple and non-negotiable:
- Work hard.
- Do what you say, and say what you do.
- Take responsibility when mistakes are made.
- Do it right, or don't do it at all
That foundation still drives everything they do today.
Why They Started Zen
After years working for other contractors, they saw the same issues over and over:
- Corners cut to protect margins
- Problems hidden instead of addressed
- Clients left guessing what’s really happening
- A disconnect between the office and the field
So they built Zen Construction around a different principle:
